These Six Minutes of Passion on 19 March 2014 were my presentation to the EU Commission, whose role is to enforce EU law in member states, about the scandal of forced-adoption, after submitting various reports and petitions to them on the matter. Only later did I realise that it was the elected EU Parliamentarians and not the EU Commission, who represent citizens’ views. The EU Commission are permanent bureaucrats, ‘paper idealists’ out of touch with the realities people are experiencing.

Hence this eventual, emotional outcry: how many more ‘cases’ do we need to present? How many more statistics?

All in all, I had submitted:

  1. Abolition of Adoptions without Parental Consent
  2. Systemic Patterns of Child Snatching and Forced Adoptions in the UK
  3. 12-page Dossier of Evidence
  4. Victimisation due to Brussels Attendance

I also had published four online petitions with a total of 8,880 signatures on 03 May 2015.

But nothing changed! Business as usual: Channel 4 published in the trailer of their film on forced adoptions some harrowing statistics:

  • one child is taken by the British state every 20 minutes, i.e. 1,000 children a month are taken into ‘care’
  • 20,000 children go missing from ‘care’
  • 50 a year die
  • 4% end up in forced adoptions, i.e. family court judges dispense with the consent of the parents “in the best interest of the child.”

The shocking fact is that more accurate records are kept about cars than about children.

Children are often raped in care. This usually gets ignored and covered up, and then crimes are committed to cover up the cover ups. That’s what we have observed as McKenzie Friends, lay legal advisors who have assisted some fifty or so families over the years. Usually, solicitors turn out not to be working in the interests of the children, either. Hardly any parents see their children again once they are in the system. This system of organisations comprises:

  • Local Councils with their Social Services, police, schools and hospitals
  • foster parents and foster homes
  • solicitors, barristers, court clerks and judges
  • experts, many of them not qualified according to this report – commissioned by the Government from the University of Lancashire
  • contact centres for parents to see their children under Draconian conditions.

The system

  • follows government policy
  • is subordinated to the needs of big business
  • has no accountability

Parents and helpers are hitting their heads against the wall. That’s what I had tried to express in the slides accompanying my speech, and European Parliamentarians (MEPs) were shocked by what I told them.
